This is Why Daddy Drinks…
So, what is this all about?
Well, I try to take an irreverent, humorous look at things that are important to me. This includes the insanity that comes with my wife and I raising two teenage daughters. That, alone, is reason enough for Dad to sneak into the garage for a beer by himself once in a while. If you have kids, and daughters, in particular, you understand.
But, I also write about things such as songs from the 80s that deserve more attention, the expenses that come with a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 truck, and what it was like to have surgery on a Thanksgiving Day.
In other words…I take topics that I think are worth reading about and try to make them worth reading for you. I have been doing this at my Why Daddy Drinks blogs at rexcrum.net, and I want to try this here at Substack…Where all the Cool Kids are.
About myself: I am a Seattle native, an Oakland resident, and, thanks to my wife, I am at least half-mentally in Hawaii all the time. I am a Washington State University alum, a long-time technology business journalist, and a diehard fan of the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners. I love the music of Rush, the movie “Apocalypse Now” and rare ribeye steaks. I hate littering, being late for anything, and anyone who makes more money than me…With the exception of Seattle Mariners centerfielder Julio Rodriguez.
I hope to publish something here at least once a week, and that you will find it interesting enough to subscribe and share this with both your friends, and even enemies, too.
